The Brownsville Independent School District Board will decide if they should let go of their suspended Superintendent, Hector Gonzales.

The controversy began in May of last year when some members of the board voted they had good cause to terminate his contract. Firing a Superintendent is a lengthy process, one of the last steps in the process was competed last week when a hearing examiner recommended letting Gonzales go from his job. At the bottom of the politics and arguments in the case are special needs children in the district. The hearing examiner released a 48 page report, ultimately saying Gonzales let the district down and more specifically letting the Special Services Department down.
