The results are in for the new statewide standardized test, STAAR, and the results aren't very impressive on the education level of the students who took the test. Almost 320,000 Texas high school freshmen took the exam this year and more than half of them received failing scores. The Texas Education Agency called the results "sobering" as some of the worst scores came from biology and English writing exams. TEA says school districts have a lot of work ahead of them to keep these students on track to graduate.
