SAN BENITO- The Texas Attorney General has charged the operator of a tire site with numerous violations where a massive fire sparked in August.

Texas Attorney Greg Abbott has charged Bobby Ray Waldrep Salvage with failure to comply with Texas environmental laws by allowing dangerous conditions to persist on his property. Thousand scrap tires were consumed in the fire located off of Barlow Road. Waldrep was also cited with three other violations, failure to obtain mandated permits for outdoor burning, the receipt of scrap tire and failure to maintain proper of this site to prevent runoff and fire outbreaks.
