Texas Attorney General Sends Letter to President onAbout Spillover Violence
STATE OF TEXAS - In the wake of some spillover violence, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott took the extraordinary step of sending a letter to President Obama.
Abbott referred to last weekend's shooting of a Hidalgo county sheriff deputy and cited other recent cartel violence on American soil quoting, "Violence is already starting to follow these criminals to the United States, as the increasing cartel activity in South Texas demonstrates. Their presence in our country is more evidence that cartels increasingly view the porous border as no more than a line on a map. And if your administration continues to fail to secure the border against this threat, it is only a matter of time before American lives are lost."
Abbott called on the president to immediately dedicate more manpower to border security and there has been no response from the White House.
