Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott orders restraining order against two unlicensed dentist in Mission.

The Texas Attorney General has charged two Mission residents with unlawfully practicing dentistry in their homes.

The two residents, Edelmiro Alcocer and Jesus Garcia are prohibited from violating state laws.

An action against both men were filed on May 21, at a Hidalgo County District court, charging Alcocer and Garcia with violating the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and Texas Dental Practice Act.

In a state investigation it was revealed that both men offered and performed multiple dental procedures to individuals even though both were not trained or licensed in Texas.

Both Alcocer and Garcia referred patients to each other and performed procedures such as filling, extracting teeth, making and fitting dentures, injecting pain medication, adding braces and writing medication prescriptions.
