Testimony Continues in Pearson Trial

Testimony continued in the trial of Edward James Pearson, who is accused of killing two San Benito girls, in a vehicle accident over two years ago.

A state trooper,  who investigated the accident, was on the stand and defense attorney Humberto Yzaguirre questioned the accuracy of a sketch showing what happened on the night of the October 26, 2008. The trooper testified that neither Yanely Mendoza nor the driver of the third car, Gladys Perez, had a driver's license.

Pearson is accused of being involved in a three car accident that left 16 year-old Yanely dead at the scene and her sister injured.  Mendoza's 20 year-old sister was transported to a San Antonio hospital and died from her injuries three months later.
