Teen Tan Ban
Pediatricians are calling for a crackdown on underage tanning.
A new report from the American Academy of Pediatrics says not enough is being done to protect the risk of skin cancer among children.
The group wants to ban teens from tanning salons.
Miami Children's Hospital Dermatologist Dr. Ana Duarte agree a ban for minors would be a good start.
"There are certain dangers inherent in exposing yourself to ultraviolet radiation, there's an increased risk of skin cancer, primarily melanoma skin cancer," she says.
The Indoor Tanning Association has released a statement saying the decision about whether or not a teenager tans should be left up to the parents and points out it will only send determined minors outdoors.
