The University of Texas at Brownsville has some great news to share.

Officials announced on Monday that the university has been awarded a $5 million dollar grant from NASA for research through their Center for Gravitational Wave Astronomy. The grant will help students and staff at the university to establish and sustain scientific and engineering research that will contribute to NASA programs.

The Center of Gravitational Wave Astronomy began with a NASA grant in 2003 and since it's opening, the center has received about $20 million dollars in private and federal funds for research.
