Tea Party members calling out state leaders on immigration crisis
AUSTIN, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Tea Party members are calling out state leaders for not doing enough to fix the immigration crisis.
Texans singled out Governor Rick Perry and other state leaders, saying they're unsatisfied with how they dealt with the tens of thousands of Central American children entering the U.S. illegally.
Governor Perry has already authorized millions of dollars in additional spending for DPS patrols, but Texans say there needs to be more resources.
Heidi Thiess, City Council Member, League City, "We are calling upon our state leadership to step up into the role for which they were elected and that is the safety, health and security of our beloved State of Texas, which we now know to be in imminent danger."
