Tax Preparers Busy with Filing Customers Returns
MCALLEN — H & R Block says it's seen a steady flow of traffic as more people need to get your taxes done before the April 17th deadline.
Tax experts are reminding individuals to bring in all your papers, including your W-2, when preparing to file your tax return. H & R District Manager Gayle Rice stated, "Large amount of people, who got their W-2's round the end of January, last week, and it's been busy for the past three weeks."
Rice says there are a few changes in the law from last year and one of those changes is the deadline date has been moved to April 17th. The reasoning behind that is that this year the 15th lands on a Sunday and Monday is a holiday so the government had to change the deadline date.
