An art project in Sarasota will have decorated pianos popping up all over Sarasota, Florida. Lena Vargas reports.

(SNN) Public pianos will soon hit the streets of Sarasota, Florida.

"Play Me, I'm Yours" is an art project that places pianos in public places to encourage people to play or listen to music from the pianos.

With the city commission approving a six-month trial period, plans are quickly moving ahead for the purchase, decoration and placement of up to six spinet pianos outside downtown establishments that would be available for anyone passing by to play during business hours.

Public pianos have been successfully placed in other cities internationally since since British artist Luke Jerram created his first "Play Me, I'm Yours" installation in 2008.
