Students and faculty reported to class this morning as usual at the BETA Academy here in Edinburg. Little did they know their school had been vandalized over night.

It's a little early for Halloween but that didn't stop three suspects from using masks to pull off what Police believe was some kind of senior prank. Three teenagers dressed in black jumped a fence at the BETA Academy campus around 2 a.m this morning and vandalized the property. An investigator is reviewing and analyzing the video at this time. They are working on some leads and are hoping to develop suspects on this case. The trio used spray paint and buckets of paint to destroy nine school buses and a building.
Police say they believe the suspects are students and that the act was well planned out.

They say there wasn't anything vulgar that was spray painted but there were some comments that were spray painted referring to seniors of 2011. Police say they are waiting for a damage estimate to see if they will press felony or misdemeanor charges against the suspects. They are taking the crime very seriously.

If you have any information about this incident you are urged to call Edinburg Crimestoppers at 383-TIPS.
