The Sheriff's Department says a case of road rage nearly turned deadly after the victim was shot in the face.

Sheriff investigators report that a vehicle cut-off another vehicle at Brush Line and Monte Cristo in Edinburg. One person then exited out of a vehicle with a shotgun and shot the victim in the face. A witness gave deputies a description of the suspect's vehicle and with that information deputies were able to detain the vehicle with the suspects. Four individuals were then taken in for questioning  on the shooting incident.

Sheriff Trevino says the suspects and his passengers are currently being held and all four could face charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon or even attempted capital murder.
