Jaime Perez was charged on Friday with two counts of deadly conduct and two counts of aggravated robbery.

Edinburg police say that Perez and his brother Esteban Martinez, entered a Stripes convenience store early Sunday and tried to run out with two cases of beer. When a Stripes clerk and a Krispy Kreme employee tried to stop them a fight broke out. The suspects were pushed outside and that's when police say they opened fire. Jaime Perez was already in police custody from an unrelated incident this week and confessed to the shooting.

Edinburg police are now searching for his brother and anyone with information on his whereabouts are urged to call police at 956.383.7411.
