Suspects Arrested in Robbery of Gold Store
WESLACO — Police have taken three people into custody after an aggravated robbery which turned into a high speed chase.
Police responded to a robbery at Valley Gold Exchange and when they arrived to the scene the suspects took off in a vehicle. The car chase ended when the suspects drove into a canal near Mile 11 and Mile 10 road and police arrested all three. Police have identified one of the suspects as the same person allegedly involved in another aggravated robbery Wednesday night. Weslaco Police Officer J.P. Rodriguez stated, "These crimes are the crimes where innocent people get hurt, whether it's the business owners or the bystanders and their families in their vehicles. The driver of this vehicle, in particular, had no regard for the safety of his passengers or the people around him."
Police did find a shotgun which matched the gun used by the suspects in the robbery and police seized the drugs, money and jewelry.
