Marquez Alvarado, 17, begins his journey through court now that he is being tried as an adult.

Alvarado is suspected of shooting an undercover ICE agent in July, 2012.

He is being charged with attempted murder, a second degree felony.

He was arraigned by Judge Homer Jasso and given a bond of 400 thousand dollars.

"We believe the bond, given the circumstances is a little high. So we are in the processes right now of filing, of what we refer to as, a writ of habeas corpus to have Mr. Alvarado taken to state court in Hidalgo county probably sometime next week," said Ricardo Flores, Attorney.

Flores said the Alvarado family will most likely not be able to post bond.
