A child was sent to the hospital after being shot with a BB gun during a domestic dispute  in San Juan last week, but the mother hadn't reported the incident until Thursday.

Police report a domestic dispute had occurred between Hember Cuellar and his common law wife at their home located on Francis street on March 10th. Police say Cuellar pointed a BB gun at his wife and pulled the trigger while she held her 8 month-old child in her arms striking the infant in the buttocks. Cuellar was charged with injury to a child, a felony, and his bond was set at $75,000 dollars and Child Protective Services has opened an investigation into the incident.
