Sullivan City Police Seize $2 Million Dollars Worth of Marijuana

SULLIVAN CITY - Sullivan City  Police busted two men over the weekend for possession of marijuana. Police confiscated more than $1,000 pounds of marijuana during two pursuits on Saturday and Sunday.

Police are still looking for a young Hispanic males that got away for foot after a chase towards Penitas.

Officers arrested Guadalupe Salinas on Sunday and charged him with possession of marijuana and evading arrest.

In January, "A total of about eight pursuits and then a total amount of seized marijuana was 2,485 pounds which have a value of two million dollars street value," said Mayra Chapa, Sullivan City Detective.

Sullivan City Police said the people driving the vehicles with drugs inside already have an escape plan worked out if they are pursued by police.

That's why catching these individuals can be so difficult and dangerous.
