Sullivan City Chase Ends in the Rio Grande River

SULLIVAN CITY - A Sullivan City chase ends with a crash into the Rio Grande River.

It happened Saturday evening, Sullivan City Police tried to pull over a maroon Ford F-250 with bundles in the back. The truck was being driven by two makes, and when they saw police, they took off.

During the chase, the men threw tire spikes and bundles out of the window, trying to slow down police officers.

The chase ended when the truck drove into the river.

Both men inside, escaped by swimming to the Mexican side.

No one was hurt.

In total 72 bundles of marijuana were seized, weighing in at just over 350 pounds.
