Sub-Committee to Determine Ebony Hills Fate
EDINBURG — It's almost decision time for the city to decide what to do with the Ebony Hills golf course when the lease ends in February of 2013.
The Ebony Hills Foundation wants the city to purchase the golf course, but the appraised price is $5.4 million dollars. The city is setting up a sub-committee that will work with the city council to figure out what to do. Interim City Manager Shawn Snider stated, "As far as the use of the facility, either purchase, or continue to lease, or no it just needs to be sold out right or whatever the options are, this citizens committee, which we had 421 people sign a petition that they are interested in that."
The city says they're still unsure what action they will take, but they do know that a purchase this large was not budgeted for this year.
