McALLEN - Normally, job seekers are adults, but on Tuesday a career fair was held for children on possible jobs in the future and colleges they could attend.

More than a thousand students were able to get information on jobs and colleges they could attend after graduating from high school. The job fair coordinators say young students from high risk homes need to see there are many job possibilities out there for them. IRRA Inc CEO Aguie Pena stated, "The opportunity to see that there are opportunities for them, jobs and there are businesses out there that they can begin to develop a decision making criteria so that they will not drop out of school and they then decide at a very young age that they are going to go onto college."

Family members were also able to come and support their child while they learned about the jobs available in the Valley.
