Despite the country's recent economic turmoil, a new study shows recent college grads are finding a stronger job market after graduation.

Lourdes Cervantes is Director of Career Services at UTPA. Cervantes says, "Yes the 2013 year is seeing improvements in career opportunities, it is seeing some vast improvement."

Cervantes also says graduating with a college degree simply isn't enough and that students also need those soft skills to be successful.

She says, "Build up what we call those transferable skills what we call communication skills, budget management skills, and show that you have some kind of responsibility."

The survey was conducted by Careerbuilder.com and Careerrookie.com, they took more than 2,000 hiring managers and found that 53% of employers are planning to hire with salary jobs between $30,000 and $50,000 a year.

The report states some of the hot jobs include IT positions, customer service, finance, and accounting jobs.

On the other hand a different report states that nearly half of the country's recent college grads work jobs that don't require a degree.
