Stiletto Attacker Sentenced
Woman receives 18 months in jail for brutal shoe attack.
The Dayton, Ohio woman behind an infamous stiletto attack that was caught on video was sentenced Monday to 18 months in prison.
Heather Sims had pleaded guilty to aggravated assault as part of a deal with prosecutors.
Anthony Miliner, the victim of Sims' attack who has permanent damage to his eye, declined to go to the sentencing.
Sims apologized to him in court.
"All I can say is I'm sorry for everything that happened," Sims told the court.
Sims said she'd had a lot of time to think about what she'd done, but the seriousness of the crime really hit her when she learned that Miliner's kids look at him differently because of the eye patch he now wears.
Miliner was just trying to help another woman who had been attacked by a man in a car in front of him at the McDonald's drive-thru.
Sims and her friends thought Miliner was the person responsible.
Sims started beating Miliner with her stiletto.
Sims was identified by the video someone shot of the incident, but she was on the run for months before turning herself in this past April.
