Apple's Steve Jobs resigns.

Rarely has one name been so associated with one company, with such success.

But this morning, the resignation of apple CEO Steve Jobs has the world asking what comes next. "This is a company that Steve Jobs took from a tiny little start up with a couple of computer nerds in the 1970s, built it into one of the most iconic companies on the American landscape," said CNBC’s Eamon Javers

"I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come."

Jobs revolutionized home computing with his Mac Computers, digital media with I-pods, the cell phone industry with the I-phones, and now I-pads are the must have gadget.

That vision briefly pushed Apple above Exxon as the world's most valuable company. He'll be replaced by Tim Cook - known as a supply line genius - but no Steve jobs.

"The end result is the products will probably be increasingly competent but will be decreasingly magical," Says tech analyst Rob Enderle

Steve Jobs, a legendary figure, now waging a very personal battle.
