Stephen Saenz Places 32nd in Olympics

Friday morning in London Stephen Saenz from Rio Grande City who has dual citizenship entered Olympic Stadium to throw for Mexico.

"Got to the stadium 100,000 people in the stadium pretty awesome something to see was pretty amazing."

Saenz says he took a few warm up throws was feeling good then it was time, he threw his first one.

"I fouled it came off my hand I went for it trying to get that big mark didn't hit the position i wanted to, I was like its ok I have two more throws."

Saenz then threw his second one.

"Fell off a little bit didn't hit it clean went about 18.65, so I said what to get it in to just a have a mark."

Then Saenz threw his final throw of the day were he fouled.

"Didn't happen how i wanted to i went for the big throw and didn't hit the position i had to hit."

Saenz says the Olympics was has been an unbeliavable experience and will take away a lot from competing.

"Knowing what to do when you get these meets is going to help me in the future at the world championships the next olympics at the world stage international meets, great experience to compete with these guys,

Saenz will head back to Alabama for a few days, then will return back to Rio Grande City August 7th to see his family and friends.

"People are sending me message it feels pretty good it's a great learning experience and support from the Valley."
