STC Engineering Club to compete in NASA's Moonbuggy Race
MCALLEN, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — The South Texas College Engineering Club will be competing against teams from around the world at NASA's Annual Great Moonbuggy Race.
Students traveled to Huntsville, Alabama on Tuesday, April 23, and were required to design a moonbuggy prototype which addressed a series of engineering problems that were faced by the original Moonbuggy team.
The moonbuggy had to be human powered, able to seat two students, a male and female, and travel over a half-mile track similar to the terrain of the Moon's surface.
The annual Moonbuggy race will be held from April 25 to 27 in Huntsville, Alabama with the top three teams in each division being judge on overall assembly and course times.
