State of Texas to Begin Annual Airdrop of Rabies Vaccines
RIO GRANDE VALLEY - Starting this week the Texas Department of State Health Services will begin it's annual airdrop of rabies vaccines in portions of Southern and Western Texas.
In an effort to protect people and livestock from rabies, planes will be taking off from airports in Zapata and Alpine on Wednesday morning and then from Del Rio next week. The state will drop nearly two million doses of rabies vaccines this month as part of the department's oral rabies vaccination program. They will also be vaccinating coyotes in Cameron county.
