All livestock owners will need to re-register their animal brands.

Every ten years the State of Texas requires all brands, regardless of registration date, be re-registered because the state doesn't want no brand to be replicated. Livestock owners need to register their brand after August 31st and before the end of February 2011. Owners can go to their county clerk officer or re-register online. Hidalgo County Clerk Arturo Guajardo Jr. says, "This year the Texas Cattle, the Texas Southern Cattle Ranchers Association has put together a database, a centralized database that will collect all the cattle brands being used in Texas and will be protected and accessible via the internet."
