State Legislature approves reduction for standardized testing

It's now up to Governor Rick Perry to decide whether the public education system in Texas will  be overhauled.

The State Legislature both approved bills that reduce the number of mandatory standardized tests from fifteen to five and would expand the number of charter schools allowed in the state to 305.

They've been sent to Governor Perry's desk for his signature.
