Man puts his Starbucks card on-line for anyone to use.

There is such a thing as a free cup of coffee thanks to a mobile applications consultant from Rhode Island. He put his Starbucks card online as an experiment and it's gone viral. At the Starbucks in Wayland Square whether it's iced or hot, tall or vente, you'd never know how one cup of coffee can change lives.

Jonathan Stark says "I said hey everybody, give this a try, put like 15 or 20 bucks on it and whoever gets down to Starbucks first gets a free coffee."

But mobile consultant Jonathan Stark of Warwick sure does.

Jonathan says "just a small gesture like that makes their day."

His experiment, to see if he could share his Starbucks coffee card with others went viral. Jonathan says "anybody can use it, anybody can power it up, re-load it with casy, anybody can use it for coffee, and anytime the balance changes, Twitter sends out a new tweet."

People weren't just downloading his coffee card on their phone to get a free cup thousands were donating to it as well

Jonathan says "today the balance is $10,000 so far has gone through the card."

Already making national news his Facebook page out of control people writing 'this is cool' or 'I donated 15 dollars' some even submitting videos. So I far from a techy wanted to put it to the test. Surprisingly I downloaded his card to my BlackBerry in about a minute and off we went to put it to the test inside.

It's in demand but wait you never know when it can recharge or who will do it. It worked so what has he learned in the past few days?

Jonathan says "that people are ready to buy things with their phones."

But surprisingly, is the lesson he learned about how one cup of coffee can change peoples lives. Like a father who wrote on Facebook.

Jonathan says "he thanked me for doing this so that he could say to his son, you know look there are good people in the world. I mean that's super heavy. So, I love that."
