A man is dead and police in Alamo are looking for a suspect.

Investigators don't have anybody in custody and haven't released the name of the victim.

"The investigation is ongoing, we believe this started at a residence," said Alamo Police Chief Arturo Espinoza. "We don't know if it was a dispute or something between the two parties that resulted in the death."

Police say the victim and his attacker knew each other.  The victim was found lying face down by the side of Alamo Road in an alley between Hackberry Avenue and Ivy Avenue.

"We don't have anybody in custody, we are questioning witnesses and we're going from there," Espinoza said. "It looks on the chest area.  It looks because the way the body was, there was a lot of blood coverage on the chest area, we don't know how many times he was stabbed."

This is Alamo's first homicide of the year.  An autopsy has been ordered and the victim will be identified after his family has been notified.
