SPI catching sandcastle fever with “Sandcastle Trail”

South Padre Island, Texas, October 1, 2013— With Sandcastle Days, set for October 4-6, just around the corner, the Island is catching sandcastle fever! The Convention & Visitors Bureau Transition Board approved matching funds for local businesses to build a sand sculpture that would become part of the Island’s “Sandcastle Trail.” More than 20 sites have already been approved.

Make plans to enjoy the skill, artistry and creativity of local sculptor Lucinda Wierenga, a.k.a. Sandy Feet. All sculptures are expected to be completed by November 1.
