Tropical storm Don is expected to make landfall tonight. Chances are slim it will directly hit the lower valley but businesses on the island have some concerns.

“We have been through Dolly and Alex and other tropical storms so we know the drill. It’s always better to air on the side of caution,” says Jeff George of Sea Turtle Inc.

George’s main concern is how the storm will affect a new batch of turtles expected to hatch today.

“Because of the threat of them drowning we are going to move the eggs into a protected area away from the storm,” says George.

He says that moving the eggs will help save the baby turtles and he isn’t worried about the facility being damaged.

“With tropical storm winds even if they were to make a direct hit we would not evacuate the area,” says George.
