PROGRESO — Two men have been detained on military desertion charges after attempting to cross into Mexico at the Progreso port of entry. Daniel Vermette and David Reynolds, both 23 years-old, were turned over to the FBI and awaiting extradition back to North Carolina to face a military court on those charges.
