A soldier from Alamo dies in the line of duty.

A second soldier from the Valley died during his third tour overseas.
Fernando de la Rosa died in Afghanistan on Tuesday by an IDE device. The 24-year-old was in the ROTC program in high school and enlisted in the Army right after graduating from PSJA Memorial High School in 2003. Since enlisting, he was stationed in Italy, Austria and Germany. He was part of the 1st Infantry Division based at Ft. Lewis in Tacoma, Washington. He was married and had two small children who are on their way from Washington.
