Soggy September Sours Pumpkins
Some areas may face lack of good gourds.
At many pick-your-own pumpkin patches this year there are slimmer pickings.
It's because of the storms that swamped the East Coast in September.
All the moisture takes a toll, especially the bigger pumpkins.
Ben Allnutt has owned an operated Homestead Farm in Fairfax County, Virginia for decades.
Normally Allnutt only sells pumpkins grown on his farm, but this year because rain damaged so many of the big ones, he's had to import some from Tennessee.
"I can't be the Grinch who stole Halloween. I've got to have some pumpkins for people," he says.
