Some kids in McAllen know what it's like to be in a white winter.

Students at Jackson Elementary got to play in some snow that was trucked into the school.

It's part of a thank you from the parent teacher organization for raising nearly $14,000 in a fundraiser in the fall. It's also part of a hands-on science experiment for all students at the school.

"They love it, they're excited, like I said, everybody's gotten to be on this snow mountain that's behind us," the PTO's Michele Gutierrez Chacon said. "They've gotten to touch the snow, they've gotten to throw snowballs this morning... so it's been a really exciting day."

Also part of the fun was a trolley ride provided by the city and they got to make s'mores.

For the smaller ones, there was also a bunny hill to sled on.
