Florida couple shares their home with 15 pet skunks.

A chance encounter five years ago has turned into an obsession for one Hudson, Florida couple.

Don and Brenda Hoch took home their first pet skunk after seeing one in a pet store.

They quickly realized they had a way with the animals, and now share their home with 15 of the black and white critters.

Spike, their first skunk, is the only permanent resident.

The rest are being fostered for Florida Skunk Rescue until they can find permanent homes.

"A lot of our rescues are skunks that needed someone to work with them because they were neglected in the home they came from and consequently became biters," Brenda Hoch said. "We've worked with them and have gotten them to become friendly again."

The skunks are de-scented at two to three weeks old, which means there is no fear they will ever spray their owners.
