Skull Found could be of Mission Woman

We have new details tonight on the skull found east of Raymondville. The Willacy County Sheriff confirms it is the skull of Josefina Lugo.The mission woman who went missing in August. Willacy County Larry Spence says the skull found over the weekend is Lugo's confirmed through dental records, and that has prompted law enforcement to head back to the scene where it was found for further investigation.

Thursday the Mission Police Department obtained a search warrant to go back to the property. They had a command set up near the private ranch where the skull was found. The Willacy County Sheriff Department and Mission Fire Department are also assisting in this investigation.

They are looking to try to see if more remains are out there. It was in September not to far away from where the skull was found that an arm was also found belonging to Lugo. The Willacy County Sheriff's Department says the investigation is ongoing.

The Willacy County Sheriff says the Mission Police are lead investigators in this case, and that willacy is assisting as they are needed.
