Shrimp season has been open for a month already, and it is not turning out as some boat owners expected, but not because of shrimp production. Carlton Reyes, President od the Brownsville-Port Isabel Shrimp Producers Association says so far production has been really good, one of the best years he has seen.
The problem is that the prices are more than 50% less than what they were last year, and that is because of a heavy influx of farm raised shrimp dumped on the market here.
