Thanksgiving shoppers looking for some great bargains got more than they bargained for at one Texas Walmart.

Police in Odessa began spraying pepper spray when a crowd of shoppers got out of control.

Walmart officials say a mass of people rushed a pallet full of tablets and headphones just as a Black Friday sale began at 8:00 p.m.

Police and store staff say they tried to control the crowd but when a young boy got knocked down in the rush, an officer used the pepper spray to break things up.

Walmart says it was an isolated incident that doesn't represent the Black Friday experience at its stores.

Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt in the incident.

We went and left, could not shop because police kept telling us to keep walking. Half the checkout aisles were closed and we could not move around freely because of the sheriff guarding the front aisles. Left and went to JCPenney it was a little better. (Weslaco, Texas)
