Shooting murder after emergency call

Investigators need the public's help in a murder case. The shooting took place late Saturday night.

The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office got a call for help and deputies found a man dead inside a home.

It happened near the area of Ivory Street and Hoehn Drive in Edinburg. Witnesses said several men went into the home and shot the man before leaving. It's suspected they left in a red pickup truck with a side step and extended cab.

On Saturday July 5, 2014, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Hidalgo County Sheriff Deputies responded to the area of Ivory St and Hoehn Rd in Edinburg in reference to an injured male requesting aid. Deputies searched the area and located a deceased male with a gunshot wound inside the residence on Ivory St.

 Investigators are actively searching for suspects in the case; several males in what was described as a red eighties model extended cab pickup truck with a step side. The suspects reportedly entered the home and wounded the victim before fleeing the scene.

Preliminary autopsy reports reveal the cause of death to be from the gunshot wound. The motive is unknown and the investigation in ongoing.
