The Cameron County sheriff's office is bringing christmas to the less fortunate.

Today deputies began delivering wrapped toys to children who otherwise may not have much.

It's estimated that they've collected nearly 800 toys.

In addition to toys, the sheriffs office is also delivering bags of food to families.

"We want to thank Walmart who helped us out and they let us set up the units over there to collect the gifts and to all the people that have contributed to help us help somebody else. The valley is known for that and we certainly appreciate it."

The Cameron County sheriff's office has been delivering gifts to the less fortunate children of the county for 18 years.
