Powerful line of storms pushes towards the East Coast.
(NBC News) A powerful storm system continues to make its way across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast today, igniting with it heavy rains, damaging winds and even hail.
Hail battered the Ohio Valley this morning s the first wave of rough weather pushed across the area and through the East Coast.
Golf ball sized pellets was part of a system that kept golf balls off the course at Marion Country Club in Philadelphia where play in the U.S. Open was suspended.
What they got in Cincinnati was damaging winds, that shattered car windows ripped the roof away, and scattered debris at an apartment complex.
In Frederick County, Maryland the storm pulled trees from the ground and pushed them across roadways
The Upper-Midwest and East Coast have been on alert since late Wednesday when storms fired-up spawning tornadoes and severe straight line winds.
That left a trail of downed trees power lines and debris across several states.
Forecasters warn the region could see a second round of even more severe weather before the end of the day.
