The Texas Lieutenant Governor made a stop in the Rio Grande Valley, not only to speak about veterans issues, but to announce the new appointment of Senator Hinojosa to the Legislative Budget Board.

In a meeting with local officials, Lt. Governor David Dewhurst, announced that state Senator Juan Chuy Hinojosa had been selected to join the Legislative Budget Board. The board is responsible for developing a budget for the beginning of each legislative session and it also establishes a constitutional spending limit each session.

After the announcement, many Valley leaders met with Dewhurst to talk about the continuous possibilities to bring a veteran's hospital to the Valley. Dewhurst says he will listen to what is needed in the region and will do everything possible to make it happen.
