Elementary school parents upset that they weren't informed about potential "hit list" when it was found a week ago. Katelyn Tivnan reports.

(NECN) School officials in Attleboro, Massachusetts are investigating after an apparent "hit list" was found at an elementary school.

The father of the boy accused of writing this list says his son has special needs and is harmless.

He thinks this is being blown out of proportion.

"It's just non-stop and I just don't understand how this could happen. They made it sound like there was no threat at all last Monday when they called and then a week later they finally contact us and do all this," he said.

Some parents dropping their kids off at the school said they didn't know about the list until they saw it on social media.

"They found out before I did and I don't think that's right. My son's in fourth grade. I should have known," said one father.

According to the superintendent's office, an investigation is ongoing regarding a student note.

They say they believe all students involved are safe.
