School District to Implement More Zero Tolerance Policies
RIO GRANDE VALLEY — Schools across the nation are implementing more zero tolerance policies and so are some schools locally. School districts in Texas are sending tens of thousands of students into the criminal justice system every year for violating school rules. Many leaders believe it's important to implement the zero tolerance policy to help stop this however, others believe the school system is going too far. State Representative Bobby Guerra says it's important for the community and parents to come together to decrease this number stating, "You know schools try to do their best, along with administrators, but at the end of the day it's all about how they are raised at home."
