SC2 - Federal agencies in Brownsville to discuss economic growth

The City of Brownsville is one of seven cities in the country selected for the 'Strong City, Strong Community' (SC2) program.

It's a White House initiative that sends representatives from federal agencies to help communities more effectively invest in existing resources, align federal programs, and help facilitate new partnerships.

City Manager Charlie Cabler says that Brownsville's economy is in the place for growth.

Charlie Cabler, City Manager, "The possibility for example of Space-X coming here, we need to grow with what's going to happen here. For example, we need to ensure that we enhance our airport. We have the resources, we have the Port of Brownsville who are doing wonderful things right now, and we need them to see what we are doing and take that message back."

City Manager Cabler says that representatives from these agencies have toured Brownsville to gain better understand of what needs to be improved.
