The woman caught with undocumented people hidden in her car Wednesday stood before the judge today.

Maria Guadalupe Najera, 39, was charged with five counts of smuggling of persons, one count of fictitious inspection sticker and one count of fictitious license.

Najera is a Mexican national.

San Juan police said they are starting to see a lot more female smugglers.

"Just for the fact that is allows them to mask themselves. A normal police officer on patrol wouldn't think twice of a mom, in this case with her two kids, inside the vehicle and wouldn't really put too much emphasis into what she may be doing. When we pulled her over she actually had the three male subjects hidden in the cargo area of her Cadillac," said Sgt. Rolando Garcia.

Police said she may face more charges for child endangerment.

Her bond was set at 2.54 million dollars.
