"The outcome was he pleaded guilty and got 40 years in prison for two murders, which is injustice because my brother is worth more than 40 years." said Sonya Gonzalez.

Sonya Gonzalez is the sister of 23 year Augustine Gonzalez from Mercedes. Gonzalez was shot and killed by San Benito resident Jose Luis Vega on July 31st, 2010.
Prosecutors say that Gonzalez and 23 year old Edgar Villanueva also from Mercedes were killed by Vega off West Harrison Avenue and B Street in Harlingen.
Tuesday Vega pleaded guilty to the murders and was sentenced to 40 years.
Gonzalez says they will remember her brother as a family man.

"He was a great father everybody knew him as guy who walking around with his child." said Gonzalez

Gonzalez has this message to Vega.

"I hope the 40 years he does in there, he does suffer in there because we suffer every day for the loss of our brother he was only 23 years old." said Gonzalez.
